Because each piece is made specifically for you according to your unique specifications, our return policy differs from standard retail return policies. We encourage you to read this policy carefully before placing an order to understand our terms regarding returns, refunds, and exchanges.

Custom Furniture Policy
Nature of Custom Orders
All furniture created by Shineplantglow is custom-made to order based on your specific requirements, including dimensions, wood species, finish, and design elements. Because these pieces are created exclusively for you and cannot be resold to other customers, custom orders are generally considered final sale and are not eligible for return or refund once production has begun.
Order Cancellation
You may cancel your order and receive a full refund of any deposits paid under the following conditions:
- Cancellation is requested within 48 hours of placing the order
- Production has not yet commenced on your piece
- Materials have not been ordered or cut specifically for your project
If production has already begun, cancellation may result in forfeiture of some or all of the deposit, depending on the stage of production and materials already committed to your project. We will provide a detailed accounting of any costs incurred.
Quality Assurance
Our Standards
Every piece of furniture that leaves our workshop undergoes a thorough quality inspection to ensure it meets our high standards of craftsmanship. We check for structural integrity, finish quality, hardware function, and overall aesthetic appearance before delivery.
Inspection Upon Delivery
We strongly encourage you to thoroughly inspect your furniture at the time of delivery. Our delivery team will wait while you examine the piece and note any concerns. If you notice any issues during the initial inspection, please document them with photographs and notify our team immediately. Issues reported at the time of delivery will be addressed promptly and at no additional cost to you.
Defects and Damages
Manufacturing Defects
If your furniture arrives with a manufacturing defect that affects its structural integrity, functionality, or significantly deviates from the agreed-upon specifications, we will remedy the situation at no additional cost to you. Options may include:
- Repair of the affected area
- Replacement of the defective component
- Replacement of the entire piece, if necessary
- Partial or full refund, at our discretion
Manufacturing defects must be reported within 14 days of delivery. Please provide clear photographs and a detailed description of the issue when contacting us.
Shipping and Delivery Damage
If your furniture is damaged during shipping or delivery, please notify us within 48 hours of receipt. Document the damage with photographs before moving or using the piece. We will work with our delivery partners to file a claim and arrange for repair or replacement of the damaged item.
Exclusions
The following are not considered defects and are not covered under our return or warranty policy:
- Natural variations in wood grain, color, or texture, which are inherent characteristics of solid wood furniture
- Minor color variations between different pieces of wood or from display samples
- Changes in wood appearance over time due to natural aging and exposure to light
- Damage caused by improper use, neglect, or failure to follow care instructions
- Damage caused by exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight
- Normal wear and tear from regular use
- Damage caused by unauthorized modifications or repairs
Warranty Information
Limited Warranty
Shineplantglow provides a limited warranty on all custom furniture for a period of two years from the date of delivery. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use conditions.
Warranty Coverage
During the warranty period, we will repair or replace, at our discretion, any furniture or component that fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship. The warranty covers:
- Structural failure of joints or joinery
- Hardware malfunction not caused by misuse
- Finish failure under normal use conditions
- Drawer mechanism failure
- Door alignment issues not caused by environmental factors
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
- Accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect
- Improper cleaning or maintenance
- Exposure to extreme environmental conditions
- Modifications made after delivery
- Use of the product for commercial purposes unless specifically designed for such use
- Normal wear and tear
- Acts of nature or circumstances beyond our control
Return Process
Initiating a Return or Claim
If you believe you have grounds for a return or warranty claim, please follow these steps:
- Contact us within the specified timeframe for your type of claim
- Provide your order number and date of delivery
- Describe the issue in detail
- Provide clear photographs showing the defect or damage
- Do not attempt to repair the item yourself, as this may void any warranty coverage
Assessment and Resolution
Upon receiving your claim, our team will review the information provided and may request additional photographs or schedule an in-person inspection. We will respond to all claims within 5 business days with our assessment and proposed resolution. Repairs or replacements will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time.
Refund Policy

Refunds may be issued in the following circumstances:
- Order cancelled before production begins
- Product with manufacturing defect that cannot be repaired to acceptable standards
- Significant deviation from agreed specifications that cannot be corrected
- Extended delivery delay beyond agreed timeframe, with customer approval
Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days of approval. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Depending on your financial institution, it may take an additional 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account.
Care and Maintenance
Proper care of your furniture is essential to maintaining its beauty and longevity, and to ensuring warranty coverage remains valid. We provide detailed care instructions with every piece we deliver. Following these guidelines will help preserve your furniture for generations:
- Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth
- Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight or near heat sources
- Use coasters and placemats to protect surfaces from moisture and heat
- Maintain consistent humidity levels in your home (40-45% recommended)
- Clean spills immediately with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly
- Apply furniture polish or wax periodically as recommended for your specific finish
